All In This Together
"All In this Together" is a project I started during the second lockdown. In the early days of the Pandemic I watched as some friends businesses vanished overnight while others thrived in the boom of e-commerce. Covid 19 did affect us all but often in vastly different ways, the idea that we were 'all in this together' seemed skewed to me.
The project started as a look at ideas of isolation during lockdown until a friend pointed out it was ignoring all those who couldn't lockdown and shut their door on the virus.
While the cityscapes show the household lights and silhouettes of those safely at home, the portraits are representations of the key-workers who put themselves at risk and kept working. Nurses, bus drivers, doctors, pharmacists, shop workers, post workers, police, refuse collectors, couriers and delivery drivers are some of those who couldn't sit back in the safety of thier own homes.
